Crompton House Sixth Form Students have received 'outstanding' A-level results meaning many will go onto Oxbridge, Russell Group Universities and even an apprenticeship at a top law firm.

The school, on Rochdale Road in Crompton, has seen 42 per cent of students being awarded A* or A grades and 75 per cent of all grades being A* to C.

Overall, more than 90 per cent of students have secured spots at either their first or insurance choice.

One of the top achievers was Amy Jakeman who gained three A*s in psychology, sociology and her extended project qualification as well as an A in history. Amy Jakeman said she is 'very excited' to start her degree apprenticeship Amy Jakeman said she is 'very excited' to start her degree apprenticeship (Image: Newsquest)

Amy will be heading to London as she has managed to secure a place on a 'highly competitive' degree-level apprenticeship at an award-winning international law firm, Osborne Clarke.

The 18-year-old said: "It's a bit scary but I think the apprenticeship gives a really good grounding for practicing law.

"You complete eight different seats, so you get to rotate and do everything to see which is your best area, so I'm going in with an open mind and seeing what type of law I gravitate to."

Another top achiever, Anya Ferguson, was awarded three As for her A-levels and an A* for her EPQ and is going to be studying medicine at the University of Oxford.

Anya, 18, said: "I still can't believe it, when I actually opened my results I did have a panic because my offer was for A*, A, A in the A-levels, and didn't include the EPQ.

"So I was a bit gutted at first but then I checked UCAS and saw my place was confirmed and I couldn't believe it, I still can't comprehend it."

Other students were accepted to top universities including the University of York and the University of Sheffield.

Susanna Hegarty, Crompton House’s Head of School, said "Today marks a significant milestone for our A-level students, as many of them conclude a remarkable seven-year journey at Crompton House School.

"While they are now moving on to exciting new chapters in their lives, we are confident they will forever remain a part of our School family.

"Their commitment to both their studies and the wider school community has been truly exceptional, and this dedication is brilliantly reflected in the results they have achieved today.

"We eagerly look forward to seeing where their next steps will take them and celebrating their future successes."
