Two Oldham men will attend court today for alleged violent disorder offences following the recent spate of 'protests'. 

Kane Kelly, aged 24, and Darren Butler, aged 41, will appear at Manchester Crown Court today, August 10, for their alleged role in the recent "protests" in Greater Manchester. 

Kelly, of Woodford Road, Failsworth and Butler, of Cattlin Way, Oldham, are part of a group of eight who were charged yesterday and will be at the hearing today. 

The other six are Anthony Whitelegg, aged 40, of NFA, Aaron Davy, aged 18, of Liney Road, Cheadle, Daniel Haslip, aged 33, of Central Avenue, Shipley, West Yorkshire, Colin Brown, aged 37, of NFA, David Whittaker, aged 46, of Farnborough Road, Manchester and a 13-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons. 

Brown was also charged with robbery.

Suspected rioters are continuing to appear in court across the country today. 

More than 700 people have now been arrested over rioting, according to the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), of whom more than 300 have been charged.

The disorder began in the wake of the deaths of three young girls in Southport on July 29. 

Bebe King, aged six, Alice Dasilva Aguiar, aged nine and Elsie Dot Stancombe, aged seven, died after the stabbing during an organised dance class. 

Axel Rudakubana, aged 18, was charged with the murder of the three girls.
