A major road in Oldham will be partially closed next week while United Utilities carry out sewer repair works.
The A62 Manchester Street will see a single lane closure on the northbound carriageway with the work due to start on Monday (August 12) and expected to last for five days.
The water company said that there is ‘essential repair work’ to be carried out on the sewer between the junctions of Clowes Street and Drury Lane.
United Utilities said it is working with Oldham Council to ‘minimise disruption’ and apologised for any inconvenience caused while the repair work takes place.
Manchester Street runs through Werneth and is one of the main routes linking onto Oldham Way.
There is also work currently in place on Rochdale Road, carried out by Cadent Gas, which is expected to end on August 19.
United Utilities said the partial closure of Manchester Street is to ensure the safety of engineers.
