The community of Oldham has rallied behind the family of a man who was left in a coma following an attack after the Euros final.
Ray Logan is now awake after being placed in a medically induced coma due to suffering significant head injuries and needing two emergency surgeries.
His injuries were the result of a 'serious assault' which police have charged a 36-year-old man with grievous bodily harm in connection with.
The attack took place at around 4.14am on Monday (July 15) with emergency services responding to reports that a man had been assaulted outside the Old Bank pub on Yorkshire Street.
The father-of-four was placed into a medically induced coma and Greater Manchester Police said he was 'fighting for his life'.
Friends and family of Mr Logan have since released information on social media stating he was now awake and had spoken, telling his family he 'loves' them and expressed his appreciation for the support he has been receiving.
One such instance of support is the GoFundMe set up to help his family with costs.
The GoFundMe has raised more than £15,000 at the time of writing.
In a statement on the fundraiser said: "At this time nobody is sure on the full extent of his injuries or what recovery will look like and how long this is going to take, what we do know is that it is going to be a long hard road ahead of him, his wife & children.
"Unfortunately there will still be bills to pay during this sad time.
"Any support that anybody can give to help whilst Ray is recovering is greatly appreciated."
The friends of Mr Logan's family have now organised a fundraising day this Saturday (August 10) at St Anne's Rugby Club to help drive donations.
The day will include plenty of fun-filled activities including hair braiding and glitter, fairground rides and bouncy castles.
Starting at 2pm, there with food and drink available as well as a raffle and auction with donations to the two including a car, beauty treatments and bingo tables.
