Over the last couple of years, Oldham has been no stranger to seeing TV filming crews pop up throughout the borough.
Some shows that were partly filmed in Oldham have recently aired, while others are set to come out in the near future.
The Oldham Times has looked at the upcoming TV releases which have filmed in the borough, as well as some of the shows to have come out recently featuring the scenery of Oldham.
Brassic - Season Six
The hit comedy-drama series on Sky has filmed in Oldham in the past, and the sixth instalment of the show will once again feature the borough.
Starring Joe Gilgun, Michelle Keegan and Damien Molony, Brassic is set to return to screen in the coming weeks, with a trailer being released last month.
Back in October, the Prince Street car park near Oldham Mumps was closed off as trailers and TV equipment took up the space, which was understood to be for the production of the new series.
Ridley - Season Two
Police procedural drama Ridley aired its first season back in 2022, and now the second season, partly filmed in Oldham, is expected to return to the small screen soon.
Back in late September last year, film crews turned up at the Constantine Street Allotments near Greenacres Cemetery to film scenes for the show starring Adrian Dunbar in the titular role.
Jackie Barker, secretary of the allotments, told The Oldham Times back in November: “Somebody from the film company rang me and asked if they could come up and have a look at the allotments because they wanted to shoot a scene in there, so I said ‘yeah’.
“The second time they came there was about four or five of them, and they all agreed they wanted to film on our allotment. After that we got a date for when they were coming and they just all turned up on the morning.”
Jackie, who has had a place at the allotment for 18 years, says she saw the film crew, but didn’t see any actors as allotment users cleared out to leave the team to it.
Fool Me Once
Michelle Keegan is no stranger to filming in Oldham, having filmed in the borough for more than one season of Brassic and for the hit Netflix show Fool Me Once.
The thrilling drama, also starring Joanna Lumley, Richard Armitage and Adeel Akhtar, was partly filmed in Alexandra Park.
Oldham Council confirmed the news on social media back in December and the park could clearly be recognised on the screen.
Passenger
Earlier this year, ITV's dark comedy-thriller Passenger aired, following the story of a close-knit community which faces a series of strange and inexplicable crimes.
Back in June last year, residents of Greenfield spotted TV crews filming on Manchester Road in the Saddleworth village.
Residents shared on social media how they had received a letter notifying them of the filming, which largely centred around one house.
The Full Monty
The follow up to the hit film aired on Disney+ last year after filming across parts of Greater Manchester including Oldham.
Two pubs in Oldham, The Greyhound in Royton and Colliers Arms in Chadderton, were the site of filming.
The Greyhound's landlord Patrick Chetram told The Oldham Times last year: “It was kind of surreal to see it [the pub in the show]. We know it’s our room all made up to look something different.
“It was quite a few days of filming to see one minute on the screen – there’s a lot of work that goes into that one minute, that one scene.”
