A car  suspected to have been stolen and involved in a crash was found in Oldham earlier today.

Police say that the damaged silver car was found on the morning of Saturday, August 3 on Aspull Street between Glodwick and Abbey Hills.

They say that the car had also had false plates attached and was found by a police community support officer.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “St Mary's PCSO Andy Bigland located a vehicle on false plates this morning on Aspull Street.

“This vehicle had been involved in a road traffic collision and suspected stolen.

“The vehicle has now been recovered.”

An image supplied by police shows the car with obvious damage to the front end being towed away.

So far no further details have been released about the crash the car is believed to have been involved in order about where it is believed to have been stolen from.

But this comes amid long running concerns about crime on the roads around Oldham and across Greater Manchester.
