Two members of the public received injuries, including a bus driver who had been forced to stop by the crowd, and another man who was hit by a projectile. Thankfully, neither sustained serious injuries.
GMP have now released images of people they would like to talk to, as it is believed they could help investigators with their enquiries.
The appeal comes after a man was charged in connection with the disorder.
Joshua Stokes, of Ten Acres Lane, Manchester, has been charged with violent disorder and attempting to cause actual bodily harm on a police officer.
The 26-year-old was remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (August 2).
