A man had his bike stolen at knifepoint while cycling in Oldham, with police appealing to find two suspects.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that at around 1.45pm on Friday, July 19, a man was cycling towards Rochdale Canal on Ridgefield Street, Failsworth, where he saw two men on the pathway as he went over the bridge.

One of the two men struck the man as he was riding before the other man pulled a knife out and took the victim's bike.

The stolen bike is a black Trek pedal bike, similar to the one police have shared a picture of.

Police are now looking to speak to two men as they continue their enquiries and have released descriptions of the two suspects.

The first man is described as a black male, approximately 6ft tall, of a stocky build and in his early 20s.

He is said to have black afro-style haircut, black stubble around the chin area, and was wearing a black bubble coat and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second male is described as being Asian, around 5ft 10in, of a skinny build and in his early 20s.

He was also said to be have been wearing a bubble coat with a hood up, black tracksuit bottoms and with a wispy beard.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact police via 101 or on gmp.police.uk, quoting log 1720 of 19/07/24.
