Bosses at Oldham Council have cleared up confusion over whether an Uppermill car park will introduce charges.
Uppermill Park, or St. Chad's Play Area, has been the subject of recent rumours regarding the car park on the site.
A post on Facebook in a local community group claimed that car parking fees would now be introduced.
The Oldham Times contacted Oldham Council for clarification as the local authority owns the car parking facilities.
A spokesperson confirmed there are no current plans to introduce parking fees.
He said: "There are no plans in place to introduce parking charges for this car park.
"Oldham Council does continually review it’s parking offer across the borough and any changes to parking arrangements would be notified in advance and may be subject to consultation."
The park is a popular site in Uppermill, situated in the centre of the village and surrounded by local businesses such as cafes, bistros, pubs and the library.
