A large area of land in the borough at a major business development site has been sold to a private investor.

The land at Broadway Central is part of a Grade A urban logistics scheme in Chadderton and has been sold by developer Chancerygate to an unnamed investor for an undisclosed sum.

The site includes seven units across two terraces ranging from 7,600sq/ft to 18,200sq/ft and a stand-alone unit of 27,000sq/ft.

Totalling 110,000sq/ft and located just a short drive from both the M60 and the M62 motorways, all the properties in the development have achieved a BREEAM very good rating and benefit from electrical vehicle charging points.

BREEAM is a certification board, which assesses the sustainability of properties around the world.

The property is part of the wider 121-acre mixed-use Broadway Green, which is delivering 700,000sq/ft of new employment space and 500 new homes.

In addition to their BREEAM status, the units sold are constructed from high-performance materials, including some which reduce CO2 emissions and occupational energy costs.

Chancerygate development director, Mike Walker, said: "This deal represents the significant efforts to develop Broadway Central, which will help satisfy the strong demand in the North West for high quality, flexibly sized urban logistics accommodation.

"Broadway Central’s strategic location near key infrastructure and sustainable, Grade A units are testament to its attractiveness to occupiers.

"We are delighted to have disposed of all of the units so soon after practical completion."

Chancerygate currently has around 1.16m sq/ft of urban logistics space under construction or ready for development across 10 sites ranging from Edinburgh to Croydon.
