The Oldham and Rochdale Metrolink line will see no services run on a section on a weekend date due to engineering works.

On Sunday, July 21, the tram line will close between Rochdale Town Centre and Freehold.

Passengers have been warned to plan their journey ahead of time to avoid delays due to the disruption.

No trams will operate during this time to allow tram improvement works.

Transport For Greater Manchester said that a bus replacement service will be in place.

Also, no trams will run into Victoria on this day from the start of service until 10am and then this will repeat again on Sunday, July 28.

Services will only run from Freehold to Monsall rather than Shaw to East Didsbury, while East Didsbury services will terminate at Exchange Square.

The service changes will last all day on the Oldham line but will continue to normal after 10am.

Services on the day will operate as follows;

From the start of service until 10am:

  • Bury – Queens Road
  • Freehold - Monsall
  • East Didsbury – Exchange Square
  • Manchester Airport – Cornbrook
  • Altrincham – Etihad Campus
  • Ashton-under-Lyne – Eccles (via MediaCityUK)

  • Manchester Airport – Victoria
  • Altrincham – Etihad Campus
  • Ashton-under-Lyne – Eccles (via MediaCityUK)
