Residents near Bleasdale Street in Royton experienced power cuts overnight.
A post on Facebook, made at around 8.30am, said that residents in the area were experiencing outages and a comment said the same occurred overnight, at about 1am.
There are planned power outages in the area but according to Electricity North West (ENW), these are not to start before 9am or continue past 5pm.
They said: "We have an intermittent fault near Bleasdale Street, Oldham and have fitted specialist equipment at the local substation to locate the cause of the fault.
"Whilst we continue to work, customers power supply may be interrupted whilst our engineers work safely on the network.
"We apologise for any inconvenience to customers during this time."
The live power cut page on the ENW website is also currently experiencing technical issues.
However, before the page went down it said the following postcodes would be affected by planned outages today (July 2).
