Oldham’s tram service has resumed after a closure due to a ‘police incident’.

The Bee Network announced that there was ‘no tram service’ on the line between Oldham Mumps and Rochdale town centre, with disruption starting at around 6.42pm.

It is understood the closure was due to a concern for the welfare of a person near the tracks who is now getting support.

Ticket acceptance was put in place for bus services on the 57, 59, 81, 83, 114, 149, 181, 182, 409 and 411.

According to the transport agency, there are now minor delays on the line, which runs from East Didsbury to Rochdale, until further notice.

Delays are impacting all stops on the line, according to the Bee Network.

Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.
