A person who fell from rocks above Dovestone Reservoir was rescued by air ambulance with the help of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team.

At 3pm on Sunday the team was contacted by Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service regarding reports of a person falling from Dean Rocks above Dovestones reservoir at Greenfield.

The casualty was located by North West Air Ambulance Charity and they had paramedics on the scene quickly to give first aid.

Not long after the vehicles and equipment had been tidied away, mountain rescue received another call from North West Ambulance Service about a person who wasn’t feeling well above Greenfield Reservoir at Birchin Clough.

The team deployed in one of its Land Rovers to the scene where the person was quickly located.

They were able to walk the casualty down to the vehicle where they were assessed before being taken back to the car park and picked up by a relative.
