Oldham is home to a wide range of countryside hotspots that are popular walking routes- and what better way to break up a hike than sitting back, relaxing and enjoying a bite to eat or a nice cold pint?

We've rounded up some pubs and cafes on popular walking routes around Oldham.

Situated along the Uppermill and Diggle walking scene and on the banks of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, Limekiln Cafe is a quaint spot with outdoor seating and homemade food.

With a menu featuring freshly baked treats and al fresco terrace dining, Limekiln provides both the traditional countryside feel as well as vibrant trendy foods, making it the perfect spot for everyone. 

They're dog friendly, open seven days a week nine till five, and serve a wide range of food and drinks, including various specials. 

2. The Waggon Inn, Uppermill

This cosy pub is just a short walk off the Canal Towpath Walk and serves upscale traditional English food as well as featuring some worldly additions on their menu.

They serve a wide range of real ales and beers, cocktails and more and feature a truly gorgeous beer garden with comfortable seating and floral decorations.

3. The Roebuck Inn, Strinesdale

Not far from Strinesdale Reservoir and with a long standing reputation in the area, The Roebuck Inn is a great place to rest up from your walking. 

Serving a large range of dishes including traditional and more modern options as well as a large beer garden with views over Strinesdale, it's an easy choice on this list. 

4. Daisyfield Inn, Oldham

At the end of a long walk along the River Medlock and Manchester and Ashton Under Lyne canal, Daisyfield Inn can provide a welcome reprieve and nice cold drink to get you back on your way.

While they don't serve food here, reviews see it credited as having an amazing atmosphere and great for pricing, making it a good stop.
