Fans have speculated that American rock band The Killers visited an Oldham beauty spot ahead of their gigs at the Co-op Live.

The Las Vegas-based band are set to perform four shows at the newly opened arena in Manchester, with the first being tonight (Tuesday, June 18).

Yesterday (June 17), the band uploaded a photo to its social media accounts, which showed frontman Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr at a beauty spot in Manchester.

The caption on the post read: "Ronnie and Brandon looking forward… to tomorrow night. #manchester."

On Instagram, one commenter wrote: "Dovestone Reservoir! Omg, I live near here! Why didn’t I go for a little stroll today! See you tomorrow! Cannot wait!"

Another person commented: "Dove Stones?"

Meanwhile, another asked: "Are you on Saddleworth Moors?"

Meanwhile, on the post on Facebook, one person replied saying: "It looks like Dovestone!"

Another asked: "Is that The Peak District or Saddleworth/Marsden Moor" to which someone replied saying it looked "like the path round Dovestone Reservoir".

The Killers are currently on their Rebel Diamonds tour, which saw them perform three gigs in Dublin before travelling to Manchester.

After the four shows at the Co-op Live, the band will perform gigs in Glasgow and London before continuing the tour with festival performances in Madrid, Japan, Chicago and San Francisco, before beginning a Las Vegas residency in their hometown.
