A mountain biker was rescued on Wednesday after falling off his bike in woods in Ashton.

Nineteen members of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were called by North West Ambulance Service following the incident at Park Bridge.

On arrival, the biker was assessed for injuries before being placed in a vacuum mattress.

He was then carried on a stretcher down the hill, to the ambulance.

The team were involved in the incident for an hour and a half.
