Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: "This was a serious incident that has left two men injured in hospital.

"Our enquiries are in their initial stages at the moment, and we are working extremely hard to ascertain the facts and build a thorough timeline of events that led up to the disturbance on Busk Road, but we believe this is an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public.

"We would appeal for anyone with information to come forward and assist us with our investigation.

“Our response so far has included increased patrols in the immediate area to reassure the community and this will continue over the coming days whilst we remain at the scene to investigate.

“Anyone with details that may help us in our investigation are asked to get in touch, as we know there could be a number of potential witnesses to this incident.”
