The Oldham areas where Andy Burnham is most popular and least popular were revealed in figures from the Greater Manchester mayoral elections.

The metro mayor won a third term in office with more than 420,000 votes, or 63.4 per cent of the vote, when the results were revealed on May 4.

Mr Burnham won in all but one council ward in the city-region – Werneth – but figures from the Greater Manchester mayoral elections released last week show the share of the vote in each council ward.

They show he took less than a third of the vote in Werneth, where he lost to the independent Nick Buckley by more than 400 votes, and he came close to being beaten Alexandra and St Mary's as well.
