An Oldham singer-songwriter known for her emotive vocals and poignant lyrics, and who has performed around the world, will be giving students a singing masterclass on Friday.
Louise Clare Marshall, the voice behind LF System's 2022 number one dance hit "Afraid to Feel", will be hosting an exclusive masterclass at Tottington High School.
Marshall holds the spotlight as a featured vocalist with Jools Holland and his orchestra, gracing stages across the globe.
Her illustrious career has seen her collaborate with renowned artists, including David Gilmour, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Chaka Khan, Beverley Knight, Dionne Warwick, Michael Ball, Tom Jones, Ed Sheeran, and the BBC Big Band among others.
The session, which is set to be an "inspirational experience" for students, in which Marshall will share her expertise, techniques and insights on vocal performance and song interpretation.
Assistant headteacher Damian Griffith said: "We are thrilled to offer this exceptional opportunity to our students.
"Louise Marshall's talent and passion for music are truly inspiring, and we believe that her masterclass will empower our students to explore and enhance their own vocal abilities."
The masterclass demonstrates the commitment of Shaw Education Trust, which runs the Laurel Street's school, to provide students with "enriching experiences that foster creativity, self-expression, and personal growth".
By teaming up with accomplished professionals such as Marshall, the trust aims to "ignite a lifelong love for music and the arts among its students".
