A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after emergency services attended to reports of someone falling through the roof of a building in Oldham.

Fire engines and ambulances could be seen at Oldham Mumps this afternoon, with a helicopter also seen landing in the area.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said they responded to reports of someone falling through a building in the area and confirmed a 13-year-old boy has been taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “Just before 2pm this afternoon (Sunday) three fire engines from Manchester Central, Philips Park and Hollins fire station, along with the Technical Response Unit from Ashton, were called to reports of a person falling through the roof of a building near Oldham Mumps.

“Crews arrived quickly at the scene. Firefighters used a turn table ladder to rescue a 13-year-old boy from the building, who was then taken to hospital by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. 

“Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour and ten minutes.”

Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers attended,

North West Ambulance Service and North West Air Ambulance have both been approached for comment.
