A care home in Failsworth which has been looking after elderly and disabled residents for more than a decade is due to close this summer.
Acorn Lodge Nursing Home on Guido Street, operated by Oldham Property Investments Limited, has provided "friendly professional care" for elderly people and respite for carers since it opened in 2010.
However, in a seemingly shock decision, the home is due to close in late July this year following the sale of the property.

While the Care Quality Commission (CQC) last graded the home as 'good' overall in 2021, inspectors said its leadership required improvement.
Further documents on Companies House link the Wolverhampton-based company to its director, Matthew James Hughes, who has 12 other active businesses.
This includes companies responsible for several other residential nursing homes across the country, including Trafalgar Care Home in Dorset, China Cottage Care Home in Doncaster, Western Park View in Leicester and many more, as well as businesses occupied in other accommodation and lettings and operation of own or leased real estate.
The Failsworth home is now due to close on Wednesday, July 31 this year, up until which Oldham Property Investments Limited will "ensure that the needs of the residents will continue to be met" and ensure they can find alternative arrangements.
Oldham Council said it's possible that not all of the residents will have successfully relocated by the proposed closing date but that the company has assured the local authority that it "will continue to meet the needs of residents at Acorn Lodge for as long as it remains feasible".
The council also said it will be supporting staff to find new jobs.
A spokesperson for Oldham Council said: "Oldham Council has been made aware from Oldham Property Investments Limited, the owners of the Acorn Lodge Nursing Home, Failsworth, of their intention to close the home as part of a sale of the property.
"The proposed closure date is 31 July 2024, at which point it will no longer operate as a care home.
"We are now working closely with residents, their relatives and Oldham Property Investments Limited to ensure that the needs of the residents will continue to be met and we will provide the necessary support to ensure that people are able to find suitable alternative accommodation as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
"The welfare of both the residents and staff at the home are our upmost priority so we will also work in partnership with the Get Oldham Working Team to support staff to seek alternative employment if required.
"The proposed closure date of 31 July is on the condition that all those people who live at Acorn Lodge are supported to find alternative accommodation. Oldham Council and Oldham Property Investments are working together and both parties acknowledge that all of the residents may not have relocated by the 31 July.
"In such an eventuality Oldham Property Investments Limited have given Oldham Council assurances that they will continue to meet the needs of residents at Acorn Lodge for as long as it remains feasible and in the interests of residents."
Oldham Property Investments Limited and the Care Quality Commission have also been contacted for comment.
