A yellow weather warning has been issued across the North West and other parts of the UK, with thunderstorms set to bring rainfall and potential disruption.
The warning issued by the Met Office, which lasts between 1pm and 9pm today (Monday, May 6), will see "heavy downpours" which could lead to flooding and travel disruption.

The Met Office said the thunderstorms and heavy downpours are likely to break out in some places this afternoon and evening.
It added that although not all places will see the storms and downpours, there may be 20 to 40mm of rain in an hour or two in some areas.
The warning has been issued across the entire North West as well as parts of Wales, Staffordshire, Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland.
According to the Met Office, people can expect the following:
- Spray and sudden flooding which could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
- There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
