An M62 incident in which a wheel fell off an HGV and hit the car of a family-of-three is one of a number of incidents to feature on a documentary on Channel 5.
The emergency in the area of J22 for Saddleworth is to feature on The Motorway, a documentary on the work of National Highways, when it returns next week.
The Motorway marks the 20th anniversary of the introduction of frontline traffic officers by National Highways on April 26, 2004, following some of these frontline traffic officers as well as others at the organisation.
It follows traffic officers Sharon Mitchell and Tony Monaghan as they respond to an M62 incident in which a wheel fell off an HGV and hit the car of a family-of-three who were on the way home from a shopping trip.
Ms Mitchell, a traffic officer of five years, said: "It was a freak accident. The family were lucky not to be hurt. They were shaken up by what had happened but they did the right thing by getting behind the safety barrier.
"The car was damaged but driveable so I was able to put it on the hard shoulder and we called for back-up to help to remove the heavy wheel and to sweep up other debris from the collision so we could reopen the road as quickly as possible.
"While it must have been a frightening experience for them the important thing is they walked away from it. We were glad we were able to help them by getting the lorry driver's details for their insurance and arranging recovery to get them home."

The Motorway returns on May 1 and runs for 10 weeks.
