Strong winds that could bring "some disruption" are set to hit Oldham today (Monday, April 15).
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning starting for most of the day, with gales of up to 45mph widely expected in the borough.
The warning started at 6.25am and will run until 10pm.
The warning applies to the majority of the United Kingdom and there is a chance that travel and utilities could be disrupted as a result of the conditions.

According to the Met Office, Oldhamers can expect:
- Gusts of between 40 and 45mph
- Some delays to road, rail and air services
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- The possibility of some short term loss of power and other services
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges is likely
The Met Office said depression will move east just to the north of Scotland through Monday and will bring a swath of strong winds to Northern Ireland, Wales and much of England.
Winds will slowly ease through this evening and the first part of tonight.
