Temperatures are set to soar this weekend with Oldham set to be as hot as parts of Italy.
While the weekend may start with a drizzle, Oldhamers can expect the heat to pick up - so much so that the town could be the ideal holiday destination for tourists on Saturday.
It comes as forecasters at the Met Office predict the borough to bask in sunshine on Saturday, for as much as three hours, when temperatures peak at 17 degrees - the same as Torino, north Italy.
However, from midnight until 8am tomorrow, rain is anticipated to pour down on Oldham and will then hold off before a heavy downfall from midday till 5pm - with a high of 14 degrees.
While Saturday brings some well-needed heat to the Greater Manchester, it also brings a high pollen count - meaning those with hay fever may need to take an antihistamine.
It will start off wet but for the remainder of the day from 7am, residents should expect cloud cover for most of the day.
To humble residents, rain has been predicted to fall for 12 hours from 10am on Sunday, when Oldham will hit a peak of 13 degrees, while Torino boasts of highs of 19 degrees.
In its weather forecast for the North West tomorrow, the Met Office said: "A windy day with a chance of coastal gales.
"Often bright with sunny spells and a chance of showers, mainly in northern and western areas. Feeling warm in any shelter. Maximum temperature 17 degrees."
While its outlook for Saturday to Monday read: "A windy weekend, with gales on Saturday perhaps giving some travel disruption.
"Showery at times, but generally somewhat drier than of late with sunny spells. Temperatures above the seasonal average."
