A segment of Rochdale Canal near Failsworth is currently closed for narrowboats travelling today due to reports of vandalism.
The Canal and River Trust issued a navigation closure as of 10am (April 3) concerning a large stretch of the canal.
The charity has warned the closure stretches from Lock 69 at Newton Heath to Lock 75 at Slaters Higher in Monsall.

This affects most barges travelling in or out of Failsworth and the rest of Oldham and Rochdale from the Manchester city centre side.
However, the towpath for pedestrians remains open.
The Canal and River Trust said in its notice to the public: "Please be advised navigation is currently closed between Lock 69 and Lock 75 due to vandalism, which has resulted in severely low water, where the paddles have been left open.
"To allow the water levels to recuperate, navigation will remain closed, until further notice."
