Emergency services, including a bomb squad, descended on an Oldham street on Wednesday (March 13) as residents were evacuated from their homes.
Not long after 2pm, Greater Manchester Police (GMP), Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) attended were called to an incident on Ellesmere Street, Failsworth, with a cordon put in place.
Residents were forced to leave their homes as Explosive Ordinance Disposal worked to deal with a situation at a property, which involved a bomb disposal robot being used.
A picture from a doorbell camera showed the robot moving along Ellesmere Street, which had been entirely evacuated.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three fire engines from Hollins, Chadderton and Philips Park fire stations were called to the incident.
The cordon was in place for nearly three hours before police announced it had been stood down.

A spokesperson for GMP said in a statement: "This afternoon, emergency services responded to an ongoing incident on Ellesmere Street in Failsworth.
"This incident has now been stood down and a cordon has been lifted.
"Thank you to the public for their understanding during this incident."
NWAS was approached for comment.
