A library in Oldham is set to receive a makeover worth more than £168,000 thanks to a generous donation from Arts Council England.
An exciting new chapter in the life of Northmoor Library is set to start after the Council secured funding to transform the Chadderton Way building and improve its facilities.
The renovation work will see the library with a new roof, doors and windows as well as energy efficiency improvements.

The existing digital offer will also upgraded with a new study space and more computers.
It is hoped community groups will use the newly reconfigured library as a space for meetings and events.
It's not just the building and its interior that will be improved either as a community garden will be added to give residents the chance to participate in an education programme to gain further qualifications.
Money from the Arts Council England's Library Improvement Fund, totalling £151,520, will be used to make the repairs and improvements to the building.
A further £17,000 has been given towards the project from Oldham Council.
Councillor Peter Dean, Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture, said: “These improvements are great news for everyone who uses the library and the wider community.
“Northmoor is already much more than a place where people come just to take out books.
“In recent years the library has become a real community hub, thanks to the wide range of sessions and activities that our library staff have co-produced and delivered with, and for, residents.
“This funding will help us improve that existing offer, whilst continuing to provide access to vital services and learning opportunities.”
