Following the announcement that a traditional Oldham pub will be closing down, the news has been met by a mixed reaction from residents.
The Black Ladd pub on Buckstones Road in Shaw announced last week that it will be closing its doors on Monday, March 18, due to financial struggles.
News that the pub, known for its food challenges, would be closing down was a disappointment to many.
Susan Laura wrote: "It was struggling so sad to see it close just hope someone can do it up and get it back on its feet. [It would] Be a shame to lose it."
Karen Parsons said the announcement was "so sad" and that the "food was amazing", while Michelle Robinson agreed that the news was "very sad" and that she enjoyed "a few good meals in there".
Keris Sheridan-Cowie echoed the sentiment that the food was great, saying she had "been there [a] few times with work" and that they served "great meals".
Many others added that the closure was a "shame", however some people felt the writing was one the wall for the Black Ladd.

Julie Briggs said the pub had "nothing on the outside to attract" customers and described it as "tired" and in need of "a lick of paint".
Karen Fraine was also unimpressed by the pub's appearance, writing: "Sadly the Black Ladd doesn't look inviting when you drive past. For a long time it has been in need of some TLC.
"Hopefully someone can invest money and time and bring it back to life."
Some others said they had visited the pub recently and were left underwhelmed by the service.
Samantha Mosley said: "Last time we visited we had a terrible experience, the service was absolutely shocking!! It’s a shame but not really a surprise they are closing."
Another person who was unimpressed by the service was Sarah Faith, who said although the Black Ladd "did the best cheese and onion pie", she described the service as "shocking" when she had visited a few weeks ago.
Responding to the mixed reaction was Michelle Berry, who said she was one of the directors at the pub.
She wrote: "I am devastated that we’ve not been able to keep the business going. The staff we have are absolutely fantastic.
"So much positive feedback but then I read the comments on this post and obviously the local community don’t agree."
