A family-owned hair salon at the heart of Royton has been giving people something to talk about for the last 14 years.
Unique Hair Studio, on Rochdale Road, became a beloved fixture in the town as soon as it opened back in 2010.
And as much as clients love calling in for the conversation, it's the cut and colour that keeps them returning.
Kylie Clegg, the 35-year-old owner, explained that many visit to catch up with friends.
“Everyone always says that it’s such a friendly salon,” she said.
“We all love chatting to the clients – and the clients sit there chatting to each other too.”
There are four talented stylists including Kylie. They are Dawn Boswell, 57, who is Kylie’s aunt, 44-year-old Kelly Fitzsimons, and 18-year-old Jess Smith - the newest addition to the team.
The salon is often buzzing with laughter and chatter – so it’s no wonder that clients often have to book in advance.
Kylie, who learned her skills at Tony & Guy in Rochdale, was helped by her aunt in buying the business - which has gone from strength to strength over the years.
They are currently looking for a new stylist to join the team, who is skilled in all types of treatments.
Kylie added: “We’re well-established now. It’s a warm and friendly environment where we offer a wide range of services, from colouring to perms and even smoothing services for frizzy or curly hair.”
The business, which has five stars on Google, has received its fair share of plaudits - including 'R Dawson' who said that the salon has "always been great, thanks Kylie", in a recent review.
While, 'Ce Costello' also left a recent review on Google, which read: "Warm and friendly place and the best haircut I've had for ages!
"Can't speak for the other stylists, yet, but Dawn is excellent - highly recommended."
