Temperatures are set to plummet across Oldham this week, paving the way for a downfall of snow.
Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow across and anticipates the frosty flurry to unsettle the borough from Thursday until Saturday.
Its forecast for Wednesday through to Monday read: "A frosty start on Wednesday, then largely dry and bright. An uncertain end to the week but probably unsettled and cold with some rain and snow, perhaps disruptive in places."
Meteorologists anticipate snow to descend on Oldham from 9am on Thursday until the end of Friday, as temperatures drop from highs of 10 degrees to as cold as zero degrees toward the end of the week.
The weather warning however, is only in place place from 3am on Thursday until 3am on Friday.
The Met Office said: "A band of rain, sleet, and increasingly snow, will push north on Thursday bringing up to two centimetres of snow at lower-levels, two to five centimetres on ground above 200m, and perhaps as much as 10-20cm above 400m.
"The snow will ease later in the day, and may turn back to rain or drizzle, especially in the south and east of the area.
"There is some uncertainty with respect to the rain/snow boundary, and the northern limit of the snow, and so details may change in the coming days as confidence increases in these aspects."
Oldhamers should brace themselves for the cold, as temperatures dive from nine degrees today and 10 degrees tomorrow, to four degrees on Wednesday.
Residents should expect travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
While power cuts may also occur across the borough and more rural communities may become cut off.
The week ahead has plenty of weather to watch out for, with rain, strong winds, sunshine, and even snow all possible ☔🌬️🌤️
