A man awoke to the sight of a balaclava-clad burglar at his house in Rochdale.
Officers attended an address in the early hours of this morning (February 4).
The police said they chased after the suspect who fled from them on foot before they caught up with this suspect in a garden in the area.
The teenager was arrested on suspicion of burglary and he was taken into custody. A balaclava was discovered after it was discarded.
Inspector Baker, of GMP Rochdale, said: "This was an incredibly intrusive crime whereby the victim was disturbed in his own home, a place you should be able to feel safe.
"It is vital every victim, and the communities across Greater Manchester, are assured of our response to this type of crime. GMP remains committed to tackling burglary offences whilst proactive teams conduct regular patrols and targeted operations which focus on preventing and reducing this type of crime."
