A search is underway for an elderly man from Oldham who has gone missing from Saddleworth.
John, who is known to his friends as Derek, was last seen yesterday (January 2) at 10am at Tame Valley Squash and Tennis Club in Greenfield.
The 82-year-old was wearing a mustard coloured anorak jacket, black waterproof trousers, a grey cap and walking boots.
John was also said to have been carrying a blue rucksack when he was last seen and he is described as a white man of slim build who is around 5ft 10in tall with grey hair.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about John and want to make sure they are safe and well.

In an initial appeal on social media published yesterday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they are “becoming increasingly concerned” about John and want to make sure he is found safe and well.
Anyone with information on John's whereabouts is urged to contact police on 101 quoting log 2565of 02/01/24.
