Christmas is approaching and with it means the return of the Christmas markets.

For those who would prefer to keep things local, the King William IV pub in Greenfield is set to include a range of stalls and even live music, alongside mulled wine and hot chocolates.

Taking place from 1pm to 7pm on Saturday, December 9, landlady Donna Simpson said she was excited to the event again.

She added: “We’ve got some stalls coming, most of them are local businesses within the community, we have a bar with hot chocolates, and we’ve got a singer on too – Kieran McMahon is doing festive Christmas songs and a few jokes and stuff in between.”

Live music from Kieran McMahon will take place from 5 to 7pm, and the pub will turn on its Christmas tree lights at 6pm.

Donna, aged 50, said Christmas was always a good time for the pub. She continued: “It’s not a massive market, it’s just a lot of local people doing a lot of local stuff, but it’s nice. We try to do it every year.

“This year we’ve done live music, which we haven’t done before. We thought it’d be a bit of a change, you’ll get a different type of customer in. They’ll browse but they’ll come to listen to the music.”
