Plans have been lodged to build both a Starbucks drive-thru and a Greggs drive-thru at the site of a large supermarket in Oldham.
Documents have been submitted to Oldham Council which outline a proposal to build the two drive-thrus on an area of the car park belonging to the Tesco Superstore on Featherstall Road North in Westwood.
The two separate units would sit in the northern part of the existing car park, which is where motorists can access the supermarket's car park from.
According to a statement prepared by ELG Planning, the area of the car park where the drive-thrus would be built is "underutilised" and the construction of the two units would improve the appearance of the site.
ELG added that building two drive-thrus would lead to the "comprehensive redevelopment" of the underutilised area and would offer an improvement to the area's local economy.
The proposed units would lead to "a number of additional job opportunities for local people", according to ELG, who said there would be a mix of flexible and high quality jobs and that the development would support economic growth.

A total of 41 car parking spaces would be available between the two drive-thrus, and cycle parking would be part of the development.
While a Greggs drive-thru at the site would be the first one in Oldham, the borough was recently introduced to its first Starbucks drive-thru back in September, with at least two others on the way as well.

In May, plans were approved to build a Starbucks drive-thru cafe at Alexandra Retail Park, on land which had operated as car parking.
Another Starbucks is being developed on Bowling Street in Chadderton, on the site of the former Bowling Green Inn, along with a KFC drive-thru, although this is set to be delayed due to a sinkhole.
The plans for the two new drive-thrus were formally submitted to Oldham Council on Monday, October 30.
