With Halloween approaching at the end of this month, Oldham has plenty of places where people can go pumpkin picking.
The Oldham Times has put together a list of places which have confirmed they are offering residents the chance to go and pick their pumpkins, with some having even more on offer.
Lancaster Park and Animal Farm
The farm near Mills Hill train station on the Middleton/Chadderton border is known for its large Halloween celebrations and decorations.
Like every year, the farm has a massive pumpkin patch where visitors can pick and carve their pumpkins to take home with them.
The farm has once again set up a haunted house for visitors to go through as well, with plenty of scares for those who enter.
A fancy dress competition is also being held, with a chance to win prizes for the best dressed.
The farm is also offering all its usual fun, with visitors able to see and interact with many of the animals.
The patch is open between 9.30am and 4pm on the following dates:
- Today (Sunday, October 8)
- Saturday, October 14
- Sunday October 15
- Friday, October 20 until Sunday, October 29
All bookings have to be made on the farm's website.
Cockfields Farm
Another farm offering pumpkin picking is Cockfields Farm, sitting on the Oldham/Ashton border on Lees New Road.
Visitors can pick pumpkins at the farm and then carve them, with a carving competition also on offer.
There is also the Mini Pumpkin Pickers offer open during term dates for children who are not yet at school.
Like Lancaster Farm, visitors can pick and carve pumpkins and meet the animals, with a haunted hayride also on offer.
The patch is open on the following dates:
- Saturday, October 14
- Sunday, October 15
- Saturday, October 21 until Sunday, October 29
Tickets can be bought on the farm's website or on the door, but tickets are cheaper online.
The Narrowgate Farm Shop
The farm on Fir Lane in Royton has opened its pumpkin patch today (Sunday, October 8), and also offers a spooky maze and spooky treats.
Tickets can be purchased on the door, with a children's wristband costing £13 while adults go free.
The patch is open between 11am and 3pm on the following dates:
- Today (Sunday, October 8)
- Saturday, October 14
- Sunday, October 15
