A surgeon who had previously worked for the Royal Oldham Hospital has had his name removed from the medical register after calling Covid a 'scam'.
Mohammad Adil, spelled ‘Muhammad Adil’ in the latest hearing, had previously worked as a locum consultant colorectal surgeon at North Manchester Hospital NHS Trust, and had worked in the NHS for nearly 30 years.
He was previously suspended from the medical register for six months at a 2022 medical tribunal after saying Covid had been planned.
The previous tribunal found that Mr Adil’s fitness to practice was impaired after he appeared in videos on YouTube where he stated that Covid was a conspiracy brought about by the UK, Israel, and the USA. The hearing noted that he was a ‘competent surgeon’.

Prior to this, Mr Adil had previously worked for the Royal Oldham Hospital as a locum surgeon, though there was no specific link to his misconduct and his time at the Royal Oldham.
Mr Adil also claimed that Covid was a scam being manipulated for the benefit of Bill Gates, pharmaceutical companies, the World Health Organization, and the John Hopkins Medical Institute of Massachusetts, and accused Mr Gates of infecting the entire world in order to sell vaccines, among other claims.
Mr Adil appealed the 2022 tribunal findings to the High Court, but this was dismissed in April of this year.

Mr Adil has now been struck off following a review hearing by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) last month, in which he was neither present nor represented.
The hearing, which took place on September 18 and 19, analysed a statement provided which strongly set out his original views, including that Covid was planned.
Mr Adil had subsequently said he would attend the hearing in a "successful, co-operative and humble appearance", which the MPTS concluded was misleading.
The hearing said that Mr Adil had misled the previous tribunal in 2022 and that he did not appear to accept any misconduct.
Further comments on social media suggested to the hearing that any regret or insight that was thought to be developing was now “non-existent” and “may not have been genuine when expressed to the tribunal in 2022”.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) following the decision, Mr Adil called the General Medical Council, which maintains the official medical register, ‘corrupt’ and accused it of working with a "microchip billionaire" and "globalist corporations’ who he says have ‘made trillions out of public money on selling toxic vaccines", following being struck off.
