The event, taking place at 11am, is to raise awareness about, and support those affected by, Dementia.
As part of her role as MP, Ms Abrahams serves as the Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Dementia.
Having cared for her mother Angela, who had Alzheimer’s disease, Ms Abrahams says she has sought to use her position as a Member of Parliament to help other families and carers experiencing a similar situation.

On World Alzheimer’s Day, the Oldham East and Saddleworth MP took part in a Webcast in which she explained her Parliamentary work on influencing the Government to do more on Dementia, particularly as part of their Major Conditions Strategy.
In addition to this, she delivered a keynote address to the Admiral Nurses Conference in which she thanked the nurses for the “care, compassion and dignity” they give to people with dementia and their families, and for calling for greater action on diagnosis, social care reform and research.
Debbie Abrahams MP said: “On World Alzheimer’s Day I want to reaffirm my efforts, as your Member of Parliament, to continue to campaign for greater awareness, especially around early diagnosis and the urgent need for social care reform.
“I am very proud of the work that we have done here in Oldham to become a dementia-friendly community but there is still more work to be done. As such, I want to invite the community to join me for my fifth Annual Memory Walk in Alexandra Park this weekend.”
