A house fire that broke out in a flat on a residential street in Oldham last weekend has killed a man, it has been confirmed.
At around 10am on Sunday (July 16), there were reports of a fire at a second-floor flat on the Eldon Street housing estate.
Greater Manchester Police said officers and emergency services attended the incident.

It has now been confirmed that a man in his 50s has died.
A spokesperson for the force said: "At around 10.20am on Sunday 16 July 2023, officers responded to reports of a fire at an address in Eldon Street, Oldham.
"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 50s sadly died.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing."
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) also confirmed it was in attendance and had sent three fire engines from Hollins, Chadderton and Stalybridge.
A GMFRS spokesperson added: "Firefighters were in attendance for several hours and used four breathing apparatus, a ventilation unit and a smoke curtain to extinguish the fire.
"One casualty was rescued from the property by firefighters, but they sadly passed away.
"Our thoughts are with their family and friends.”
