A Pizza Hut restaurant in Oldham was broken into and burgled in the early hours this week and a man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The Pizza Hut delivery shop, on Huddersfield Road, was broken into during the early hours of Monday, July 10, at around 1am.

Residents witnessed a police cordon being set up around the premises around 8am and said it appeared the front door had been smashed.

Greater Manchester Police has confirmed it is investigating the incident.

A 31-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody for questioning.

The news comes as The Old Plough Chippy, also on Huddersfield Road, claimed it was broken into just days before - on Wednesday (July 5) last week.

Bosses of the fish and chip shop said while the thieves "didn't get much", their full till was allegedly taken.
