An Oldham town centre institution is holding auditions for the 2024 series of ITV’s The Voice UK.
Billingtons will be hosting an auditions ‘showcase’ on Wednesday, August 16.
The former dance academy will open its doors at 6.30pm, for a start of 7pm.

Those hoping to prove they have what it takes will need to sign up in advance by contacting Billingtons via email, at info@billingtonsoldham.co.uk.
Those wishing to watch the showcase can also email Billingtons to come along.
Sola artists, duos, trios, and groups of up to eight are all eligible, with all music styles said to be welcome.

Those performing will need to prepare one song with a backing track or instrument. All backing tracks and instruments will need to be provided by those auditioning, including a device to play them on.

Krzysztof Zemlik, who owns the century-old building, said: “We are absolutely honoured and thrilled that producers of ITV’s The Voice have chosen Billingtons to host a showcase and we look forward to hearing the artists taking part.
“Word is spreading quickly, and we already have interest from hopeful applicants.
“If you think you have what it takes please book your place now. If you are not booked in, you will not be able to take part.”
Billingtons re-opened its doors to the public last year after a multi-million-pound renovation.
The former dance academy closed in 2016, but has now has been transformed with events spaces and a cafe, which serves award-winning desserts.
The Voice UK is a singing competition where a panel of four coaches who judge performers only by their vocal ability.
Contestants perform with judges having their backs towards the performer. If judge likes what they hear, they can press a button on their chair to turn around and face the performer, signifying that they would like to mentor them through the series.
Originally airing on the BBC, ITV acquired the rights to the program from the sixth series onwards.
