Full Monty actor Hugo Speer has said he was kicked off The Full Monty TV reboot for allegations of nudity.
The actor, who played Guy in the original 1997 film, has now spoken about the incident with the Daily Mail newspaper.
In an interview, Speer says the situation is ‘tragic-comic’, referring to the plot of the original film which sees a group of unemployed steel workers form a male stripping act.
The series, which was filmed in parts of Oldham, was set to include the entire original cost of the Monty men.
However, Hugo Speer was kicked off the set in July 2022 due to ‘inappropriate conduct’ claims.

Speer describes a nervous breakdown following his removal from the series and says the school run following the news breaking was the ‘most humiliating day’ of his life, and alleges that the investigation into the claims was run improperly.

He goes on to describe the two alleged incidents.
The first incident involved a runner, who allegedly knocked on his trailer door when he was changing. Speer tells the newspaper that he shouted ‘one minute’, but that the runner opened the trailer anyway and engaged in conversation.
In the second incident he described a costume worker who had complained she’d seen him walking naked in his trailer past an open door.
He tells the Mail: “The trailers are dark and stuffy. If it's a warm day I've been known to have the door open but I should have been more careful in this instance, as I was getting changed.
“I'd no idea anyone was in the vicinity or could see into my trailer. If I made anyone feel uncomfortable I am extremely sorry.”
Speer goes on to say that he wasn’t sleeping at night, and he had planned to challenge the case at an employment tribunal.
However, he tells the paper that he decided to drop the case due to mounting costs.
But, following this, Speer says the other side tried to make him sign a non-disclosure agreement and agree to not contacting anyone involved with the production, including friends he had known for more than 25 years. Speer did not agree to the terms, adding that he had been through ‘living hell’.
While the identities of the other side of the allegations are not known, Disney provided the following response to the Daily Mail: “Last year, we were made aware of allegations of inappropriate conduct by Hugo Speer on the set of The Full Monty.
“As is policy, an independent investigation was launched. Upon its completion, the decision was made to terminate his contract, with immediate effect.”
Disney+ was contacted for comment.
