A disused greengrocers in Saddleworth could be demolished to make way for flats, new plans reveal.
J Stanford Greengrocers, which sits on Greenbridge Lane in Greenfield, used to sell fresh fruits, vegetables and fish in its heyday.
However, the building has stood vacant for some time.
On behalf of the applicant, a planning statement by Civitas Planning Limited was submitted on Thursday, June 1.

The proposal seeks to demolish the building and rebuild two-and-a-half-storey buildings to make way for four flats as well as car parking spaces for up to five cars.
Each flat would have its own "generous" amenity space on private balconies as well as open communal space.
The parking spaces would be situated underneath the building and there would be provision for cycle storage.
In terms of the design, the applicant stated it would incorporate a modern but traditional front that is "built to a high standard" and in keeping with Greenbridge Lane.
Meanwhile, elevations which would face the gardens of the homes along Chew Valley Road will not have any windows to secure neighbours' privacy.
The elevation facing the home next door to the building would also not have windows for the same reason.
Civitas Planning Limited said the site would be ideal for the development of apartments given that the location "has good public transport links", such as a bus stop outside the Conservative Club on Chew Valley Road, and is within walking distance to services and amenities.
There have been no objections to the plans at the time of writing.
