A crash near a pub in Oldham involving a car and motorbike has resulted in ‘serious injuries’ for one of the drivers involved, police have said.
At around 2pm yesterday (Saturday) emergency services were called to a crash on Ripponden Road, Denshaw.
Greater Manchester Police urged drivers to avoid the road between Denshaw Village and the M62, near the Rams Head Inn, while officers dealt with what they described as a “serious incident”.
The road was closed for several hours and reopened at around 7pm.
Today (Sunday) a spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed the incident was a crash between a motorbike and a car and said no arrests had been made.
The spokesperson said: “This was a road traffic collision – no arrests made.
“It was on Ripponden Road. Collision was between a car and a motorbike.
“Serious injuries but not believed to be life threatening or life changing.”
Police did not specify whether it was the rider of the motorbike or a person inside the car who has been seriously injured.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact GMP by calling 101 and quoting log 1777 03/05/23.
The Oldham Times has also contacted the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) for a statement.
