An appeal for information has been launched after a willow structure at Dunwood Park was vandalised yet again.
The willow structure, which was created in February to commemorate the King’s coronation, was ‘destroyed’ last month by vandals – triggering outrage among the community.
It was repaired later in April, but over the weekend the structure was destroyed again.

Resident Pauline Mason was walking her dogs when she came across the scene.
She said she was ‘disgusted’ by the vandalism, adding: “This is the second time it’s happened, the first time they pulled it over and they got the lady back who originally did it, and she put the stake in the middle to get it upright again, and about four weeks after they’ve burnt two ends of it.
“They’re trying to do things for the kids and for the likes of me, that’s disabled, yet you’ve got young thugs coming in, destroying stuff.
“If it was viable, I think they should have some cameras up around here and some lighting.
“It’s a really well-run park, they have Friends of Dunwood Park and they have loads of activities for kids in school holidays.”
The identity, age, and other information about the vandals is not known.

Cllr Chris Goodwin, Oldham Council’s cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “We are deeply saddened to hear about another act of vandalism to the Willow structure, which, in the shape of a crown, was made to commemorate The King's Coronation.
“Those who are responsible should be ashamed of themselves.
“This was an amazing piece of work that was originally made by the Friends of Dunwood Park and the local community. It was a wonderful addition to the park, and we want to thank Erica for recently repairing the Willow structure (after another act of vandalism).
“Our teams will look to repair the feature as soon as they can.
“If anyone has any information about this dangerous act of vandalism, please contact Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 1111. Your details will be kept confidential.”
