The Whit Friday band contest is returning to Saddleworth next week and police have warned that residents living in 13 areas will need permits to return to their homes on the day.
High Street, Uppermill will be closed from 3.30pm on Friday, June 2 until the band contest finishes at around midnight.
GMP Saddleworth and Lees have said residents living near the area will require permits which must be obtained ahead of the event.
Residents who live in the below areas will require a permit:
Alexandra Mill
Bridge Street
Co-operative Street
Court Street
Den Lane
Grosvenor Square
Lee Street
Mill Street
Moorgate Street
School Street
Spring Street
Watergate
Wade Row
When requesting a permit residents will need to supply their name, address, and car registration number.
Residents have been warned that even with a permit they will need to allow extra time to get home as traffic will only be allowed through in batches behind the marching bands and their coaches.
