A popular Oldham cafe has continued its winning streak after scooping a sixth award.

Weaver & Wilde, situated in the heart of Uppermill on High Street, has been crowned the “best coffee house and foodie retailer” at the 2023 Bar and Restaurants Awards for a second year running.

The cafe was also handed the award last year in recognition of its new shop, Weaver & Wilde Groceries & Provisions, which opened in June 2022.

Since opening in November 2019, the cafe has also won the Travellers' Choice Award from Trip Advisor two years in a row, in 2021 and 2022, as well as two Northern Enterprise awards.

The Travellers’ Choice Award from Trip Advisor recognises businesses that consistently earn good tourist reviews and are based on ratings posted on the website over the 12-month period from January 1 to December 31.

Meanwhile, the Northern Enterprise Award celebrates dedicated businesses and enterprises across various categories from the north of the country.

Last month Wilver & Wilde announced it was moving a few doors down, to number 42, where the shop, All Wrapped Up, used to operate.

The cafe said it is relocating into the building to "start the next chapter for the coffee house" as well as "give no.42 a new chapter in its life".

In a post on social media, the coffee house explained: "We love our little shop and after three and a half years, we are starting to outgrow it in its current form.

"It has been a long few years, opening just before a pandemic.

"Our thanks, as always to our customers old and new and we look forward to sharing this next step in our journey with you all."

In an update posted on social media this week, owners Thomas and Cal Rowson-Codd announced the cafe would be closed on Mondays until it completes the move in mid-August.
