A family-run hairdressers in Oldham which is the borough's only official Olaplex salon has completed the biggest makeover in its history.

Lush Hair Salon, situated on Huddersfield Road in Saddleworth, has run in the family for decades.

The 32-year-old said the salon had been changed into a "pink/lilac Barbie house" a few years ago and as of March this year, she said she was ready for a revamp.

"We are ready for a change - you name it, we are changing it in the salon.

"It's going to be a secret until the unveiling", she said at the time.

Now, the salon has completed its hefty makeover and sneak peek photographs show the extent of the dramatic transformation.

Holly explained: "We decided to do a complete makeover, using all local suppliers and local shops.

"We have changed everything from the flooring to the paint colour and chairs - staying as local as we can and supporting local businesses."

In preparation for the refurbishment, Holly has been flogging some of the salon's pre-loved furniture and even staged an Easter giveaway for a pair of mini straighteners.

In the competition, customers were invited to share their favourite moments in Lush, whether it was a funny moment or what they love about coming to the salon.

The winner said she loved the salon because "I am always made to feel so welcome and I can feel Holly's passion for hair.

"She always does the most incredible transformation on my hair and I leave feeling like a million dollars.

"I always look forward to my visits. You always look after us", she wrote.

"Lush is lush - always immaculately clean, amazing seasonal window displays and Holly is very welcoming, listening to what you want and performs perfectly.

As of today, Wednesday (May 24), Holly said the makeover is finally done and it has had the biggest refurbishment of its life.

Meanwhile, Holly's mum "kicked skin cancer's a**e" just days before the makeover started.

"She's the strongest woman - she never moaned, never made 'it' a thing. The best momma in the world", Holly rejoiced.

The rest of the family also helped Holly to bring her vision to life in the salon, with her granddad painting the salon into a "crisp cream colour, with pops of gold and black", while her dad ripped up the floor to make way for a new carpet from the Springhead Carpet World store.

Commenting on the final result, Holly said: "I am absolutely in love.

"I don't want to give too much away but the new furniture like chairs, backwash, mirrors etc have been delivered and they look amazing.

"I can't wait for everyone to see the hard work every single one of my family members and outside workers have done.

"Keep your eyes peeled", she added.
