Citizens Advice has announced an exciting new energy project which will help hundreds of homes save money on their energy bills.
The Citizens Advice SORT (Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford) group is offering up to 400 homes across the districts the opportunity to take part in a new project where households will receive bespoke energy advice and a free Google Nest Pro 3rd generation thermostat fitted by Nest Pro installer.
As part of the scheme, the energy team at the charity hopes to provide advice to improve energy efficiency in the home and reduce overall energy costs over the course of 12 months.

Successful applicants to the project could save up to 10 per cent on their central heating costs and reduce their carbon footprint.
This is based on independent studies which have found Nest Thermostats combined with seasonal savings save the average user 10 per cent on heating bills over the winter.
Citizens Advice SORT said it is looking for individuals as well as families who are in need due to the current energy crisis.
Applicants must also be homeowners or renting privately, providing they have permission from their landlords to take part, as well as wifi.
Steve Hughes, Chief Operating Officer of the charity said: "We’re excited to announce our new energy advice Google nest project that could save people up to 10 per cent on their energy consumption and put much-needed money back in their pockets.
"Energy prices are continuing to soar we’re pleased to have received funding from Energy Redress Scheme to help people manage their consumption better.
"Our energy team will be working with successful applicants, providing tailored advice and support from the moment they get their Google Nest Pro 3rd generation thermostat fitted by Nest Pro Installer, and over the course of 12 months.
"We will be assessing the impact of smart thermostats on energy costs and energy habits and compile a report at the end of the year."
The charity is encouraging people to fill in an application form to apply and watch the Google Nest Pro video.
